2 years on, Hebe is finally releasing her fourth solo album – day by day.

 

Taking on a radically different approach from artists in the industry, the album will be opting for a digital release on 8th July, with physical copies of the album only available during the pre-order period. Fans who are interested in getting a physical copy of the album for keepsake will need to do so in the pre-order period.

 

The album promotions will take on a special twist, as Hebe is to star in a original musical titled “Serenade” (小夜曲). The musical will run from 15th July to 24th July, with ticket sales to begin on 15th June 2016. Details of the musical is available at the end of the post.

 

There will be no autograph sessions held for this album. Instead, at the end of every musical show, Hebe will hold a short autograph session for the audience, with a maximum of 2 albums per person.

 

 

The album’s concept photography is helmed by Mária Švarbová, famed for her use of pastel and muted tones. Hebe and the team flew to Slovakia for the shoot, transiting through Venice, totalling 15 hours of travelling time from Taipei. The result is a pleasantly fresh take on the singer, with a minimalist, almost surreal photography style, making it a marked move away from the past dramatic styles of her solo album art. Though the concept photography appears to be rigid in pose and void of clear emotions, in essence stripping away the individuality and identity of the subject – in this case Hebe,  the visuals remain strong in delivering its narrative through encapsulating the moment in a scene. The style is most apt as the album’s concept art, where day by day is essentially about the daily life, removing all the layers of fame and mystery wrapped around the now successful singer, bringing her back to basics and back to where she becomes an equal being, like you and like me.
