2015.05.22 The Ark Of Mr.Chow – S.H.E Special

In lieu of the upcoming theatrical release of 少年班 The Ark Of Mr.Chow, a S.H.E special has been released, as the girls share their thoughts on the film. The song playing in the background is 你曾是少年, S.H.E’s latest single.  I have translated their talking below. If you will like to repost, kindly credit back to the site, thank you.

Translations:

Watching this film really has a lingering sense of subtle sadness, yet at the same time it gives one some postive energy.

This film is, to emancipate, to set the past free.
One that frees an individual from their past, it’s a film like that.

They may seem to be geniuses, as gifted children, but a genius does not equate to a perfect person.
The most memorable scene was when Wu-Wei was drunk and confessed to his brothers, it was very heart-wrenching and painful.

I find the role of the teacher very special as well.
Because his expressions are all, solemn, very weirdly, a very weird sense of calmness and solemn feeling.
Truth is he was once the same too.

He placed his hopes onto the kid.

Yes, like my father is the same too, he placed his hopes and dreams on me.
After watching the movie today, you can fully understand, comprehend the director’s lyrics, the meaning behind every single line. This comes strongly from his heart, every single word of the lyrics being sung, every scene he had shot.

I feel like when we sang, ti really felt like we are speaking on behalf of this group of teens, saying out loud their emotions. It is not, during the process it also seems to comfort ourselves, to not forget the dream we initially had and the very basic self we started out with.
In the younger days I had a lot of dreams.

So cute.

I thought of being what you know? I wanted to be an artist and I also wanted to be an air stewardess. Later I realised my height and looks do not meet the standards so I thought, forget it.

How can it be?! It is beyond meeting the standards!

At first during the album debut I was more nervous and cautious, wanting to be very precise, very perfect and accurate in expressing what is my self. Later I realised there is no such thing as perfect expression because in every hour, every moment, every minute, every second, due to every single thing and every event, we are all constantly changing. And I am also maturing through it.

Be it good or bad, you just have to accept it.

Just open your arms and welcome all the things it gives you. When you have gone through it seriously, please thank all these experiences when you look back on them.

The three of us really gave our youth, our most precious stage of life and contributed to this place (entertainment industry).
Very thankful of the past and also looking forth.

Thankful of those times, being so brave and daring in doing those things.
Because we, because we don’t know, so many things were refreshing, very happy. It was really happy, it was really, a joy to be together.

That period of time, I felt like I was reborn, having been through an adversity.

If we are to say something to our fans, it is that we are truly very thankful to all of you, for letting us S.H.E accompany through your youth.
So we are really happy to still have that opportunity now, to continue accompanying you.

Perhaps you may have already grown up, you have already set foot into society, with your own dreams and having achieved it, or are still chasing after your dreams. But we have not been absent. This point to us is really very fortunate and blessed.

Hello everyone, we are S.H.E! June 16th, we invite all of you to head to the cinemas to support the film The Ark of Mr Chow. Let us search together for our once young self.
