2014.09.03 如果 If Concert Press Conference

Hebe’s latest and first major concert tour, 如果 If, was officially announced at the press conference held in Taipei W Hotel on 3rd September. Revealing the concert’s concept visual and  the advertisement video for the first time,  Hebe expressed her liking for both the end products, especially the main visual for it was an underwater photo shoot. Host Mickey Huang sharply pointed out the direction and style of both the visual and advertisement is a stark contrast from many other Mandopop concerts yet it appropriately ties in with Hebe’s character – calm, mysterious and the tone of the concert lines so low-key that it does not feel like a concert. He jokingly quipped it felt like a specific genre of Thai movies.

 

The date of the press conference coincidentally also marks the 4th year of her solo career, although Hebe herself is totally unaware. As such, record company HIM presented Hebe with four items to congratulate her successful career and as well wishes for her upcoming solo concert.  The Luo Han Guo for a good voice, the apple for a smooth and safe concert, the pistachio which in Mandarin literally means Happy Fruit (開心果 kai xin guo) in hopes that she will make everyone who comes for the concert happy, and lastly the kiwi for her good health. (Kai Xin Guo is also a term commonly referred to a person who makes others happy often in a group.)

 

Despite earlier mentions of not yearning to perform on the stage of Taipei Arena as she has already achieved that goal through S.H.E’s concerts, Hebe will in fact, have performed at the venue for a total of 8 times. inclusive of the 2 nights of her solo concert. Hebe’s biggest worry though, is experiencing dead air during the concert, since she no longer has Ella and Selina around.
