2013.12.03 Christmas Charity Auction Press Con

Hebe attended a really meaningful event today, something she always enjoys and loves to do.

As part of fundraising for the visually challenged in the society, Hebe has donated a set of her show clothes used during her previous album promotions and is also the official spokesperson for the event.

You find videos and some photos of the event below.

1. Christmas Charity Auction -Media Interview

She shares on the importance of every single action of recycling and everyone’s participation in going green. So she shares on many examples of how we can all play a part and how every little step accumulate and accounts for a really great effect.

One of the reporter asked for her response in regards to fans getting a shock due to a photo/image from a music app while listening to her album. She takes a look at the app and asks what app is it with amusement, but doesn’t know how to answer the question, saying it is a very difficult question to answer! Quite a cute response there and the reporter didn’t chase her for an answer after that.

Hebe also shares on how she and her family recycles water at home for flushing toilets and the shock some of her friends have when they forget to use the recycled water for flushing. She will tell them it’s ok, you are a guest, so it’s alright.

2. Christmas Charity Auction – Live Rendition of Love

I must say, this is officially my favourite rendition of <Love> from her. It is so different from the usual way she sings it, this version is so much like an innocent asking questions to adults, why do people not love and why don’t they love themselves?

3. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 2

She shares on how she actually often comes into contact with the visually challenged, including fans she has met on autograph sessions and her favourite of all, her masseuse. She loves to discuss music with them, especially when they share their thoughts on her album, telling her what’s great and what was lacking, providing her much more in-depth and detailed review on her songs. And because of their pure response to her on only her album and music, she says she loves interacting with them.

4. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 3

She calls for everyone to do charity as much as they can and more often as every little bit counts.

5. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 4

The visually handicapped shares on their love for music and the counselor also states on the challenges/difficulties they face on helping them to find a suitable job based on their interest. The host asks the musician and sound recordists if they heard Hebe’s album and their thoughts on it, to which the musician said the bass is mixed very well and the album is great. To which Hebe enthusiastically says, you say, they really listen to the details!

6. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 5

The counselor and Hebe shares on how to guide the visually challenged, based on 4 simple steps.
Ask if the person needs help.
Pat the person’s hand gently to let him/her place their hand on your elbow
Guide the person slowly, be ahead by half to one step
Tell the person of any road obstacles, such as steps, slopes, kerb etc.

The media reportedly requested Hebe to guide the sound recordist to the point where Hebe did give a slightly ‘blank’ look for a short moment (for the last request).

7. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 6

Hebe shares on her experience of guiding and says that the person guiding, if doing it for the first time will be a bit nervous as you may be afraid of not reporting the road situation properly.

8. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 7

Hebe signs on the board as the official spokesperson for the charity event. One of the media asked her to put down her mic (the second time, first being when she was guiding), to which she jokingly quipped, how much do you dislike the mic?

9. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 8

Hebe  shares on the set of clothes she was putting up for auction. It was one of her promotional set of clothes for the previous album, <My Love> and she felt the design was not too fancy and suitable for anyone to wear it.

10. Christmas Charity Auction – Part 9

Photo taking opportunity for media. Nothing much except that when the host directed them to look at the right side, Hebe quickly said, “What are they to do when you ask them to look?”, and she laughs. She was just trying to be sensitive in a casual way. Perhaps tilt towards the right might be a better way to put across the same meaning I guess.
