2016.04.22 Hebe: Girls All Need Love!
Posted On April 29, 2016
The cover took on the theme of old school days and so our talented photographer Ah Jiang specially decked out a classroom set in the studios. And Hebe spoke much about her school days, all things fun and wonderful, so now let us uncover more titbits about the young Hebe.
Marie Claire (M.C.): Did you deem love and dating as something very important since young?
Hebe: Yes, I think all girls really need love. Just like what I said, since the time your hormones start acting up, you need to have a crush or someone you admire or live, have a goal in life and you will gain direction, sigh, how lost was I back then?
M.C.: During those days as students heading to KTV, what were the favourite songs you sang?
Hebe: Actually I rarely head there, maybe because our family lived more in the countryside so there were very few chances to go to KTV. And when I used to go sing, the rest of the people present will not sing (saying this, does it seem a bit shameless, but it is very real…), because they think I sing too well, so they would say, “Tien Fu-Chen if you’re singing, then I don’t dare to sing!”. So even when I went to KTV I don’t like to sing, because it burdens people, and everyone can’t enjoy it together. I’m not trying to show off or anything, but it was really like this back then, so even when I went, I will just eat and drink, but I did used to like singing Shunza’s songs.
M.C.: Many people feel that friends you made back in the schooling days are the simplest, what are your thoughts?
Hebe: Right now I still maintain contact with 1 to 2 friends from the schooling days, when I went back (to Hsinchu) during the Chinese New Year and met up with them, it was a really happy feeling that came from the heart. You can chat about anything with them, even secrets because they won’t tell on you, the trust in them is like that of the trust in my family. Although everyone is working in entirely different industries, but they will still listen to you and they understand you, perhaps because they know how I was like since way back, so that feeling is really pure and simple, you don’t have to worry about any complications, it’s a really great feeling.
M.C.: What was your ambition during your school days?
Hebe: Back then I was very innocent and naive, only thinking about dating and playing, I didn’t have any special or great ambitions. Actually I don’t even have one now, ha! There was once where my friend who owned a cafe, invited us to her cafe’s opening day, then she gave out little slips of paper to ask everyone to write down their dreams, in the end I handed over a blank slip. Since young, I don’t have any dreams, even till today, I just hope to be happy and healthy every day, doing things I enjoy. I am a really boring artiste, even the company have issues with their press releases about me, they can’t say, “Hebe finally attained her dream! She has finally made it to the stage at XXX (venue)!”. My dream is to become someone with talking points, is humorous and newsworthy; an artiste who will no longer cause headaches to the company.
MC: Will you want to have kids?
H: Currently no, but I love children, I like to play with the kids around me. If my two sisters give birth, they will definitely be spoilt by me. I will become the best aunt of the century. But if I were to have my own kids, I think it will be a bit scary, I might have to hire 2 shifts of nanny, because I sleep in till noon everyday, the baby will have starved to death.
